31.5W x 27.5H x 3.5D"

"Geo-Portal” hones in on the surface evidence of a geothermal site in Iceland. The images are reworked into a receding stack of hexagonal rings that are plexi-mounted and backlit, infinitely repeated into an illusive depth. The portal concept is constructed within a mirror polished geometric form that is reminiscent of an abstracted crater or fumerole found among the geographical features of the geothermal site. As the viewer engages the work, reflections of the viewer and the external environment fold and twist into the work.
